Vrata odpira novo, inovativno gamified adventure experience: “Mission – Escape to Space!”
Vitanje, 23.01.2023 – Are you ready for an adventurous journey? The Noordung Center in Vitanje, in collaboration with Enigmarium, invites you to discover an innovative, technologically advanced adventure experience with escape room elements, called “Mission – Escape to Space,” and to save the Noordung space station before it crashes onto Earth.
In this new experience, developed at the Noordung Center with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Tourism, and Sports and the Municipality of Vitanje, various fields intertwine: the preservation of cultural heritage and museology, the promotion of space technology, and the increasingly popular domain of gamified experiences and edutainment. This innovative adventure combines real-life challenge-solving, similar to escape room games, the discovery of Noordung’s legacy, overcoming the challenges of space travel, and addressing the contemporary questions raised by the (already omnipresent) artificial intelligence.
Do you remember the iconic film “2001: A Space Odyssey,” where director Stanley Kubrick designed the space station precisely based on Noordung’s concept? In this extraordinary and futuristic movie for its time, artificial intelligence took control, systems started failing…
Now, at the Noordung Center, a new, pioneering, and unique experience awaits you, where instead of sitting in a chair watching a movie – you take the lead role! You will be the one to accomplish this critical mission:
“We have received a distress call from the Noordung space station. Systems are failing, the crew has evacuated, contact with the station is lost, and it is about to crash onto Earth. We are looking for a brave team to embark on the mission, reset the computer, and, through teamwork, knowledge, skills, and courage, save themselves, the habitation wheel, and Earth from disaster.”
Since we are currently facing many questions and dilemmas regarding the use of artificial intelligence, this adventure has been designed to leave you with valuable insights from the mission. The theme opens up opportunities for further reflection and exploration.
Gamification is a unique and valuable approach that brings intangible cultural heritage to life and attracts visitors to museums, technology centers, and cultural institutions. It also engages new target audiences who might not otherwise consider visiting. By offering exciting experiences, we increase visitor numbers and inspire a passion for further independent exploration of the topic.
Experience Flow – Attention, This is Not a Classic Escape Room:
“Mission: Escape to Space” is an innovative, high-tech combination of technology, entertainment, knowledge, and adventure gaming, fully designed and executed by a Slovenian team using Slovenian expertise. Tickets for two to four players can be purchased at the ticket office. Upon agreeing to the general terms, the team receives a special card, which initiates the game. The gamified path leads through various sections of the space station. Each area presents new challenges and tasks. Similar to an escape room, time is limited, and players have access to hints, which they can choose to use or not if they prefer a greater challenge. The dramatic progression intensifies until the fun finale and a surprise ending.
