After months of preparation, testing, building, and carefully fine-tuning every last detail, we officially opened the doors of Enigmariuma Blåvand on Denmark’s west coast.
The new Enigmarium centre offers two original adventures inspired by Nordic legends: Ludvig’s Kitchen: The Hygge Recipe and The Wondrous Machine: The Tail of the Midgard Serpent. Both games were created in collaboration between our team from Ljubljana and our Danish partners, who recognised in Blåvand the perfect opportunity for a new generation of cinematic escape room experiences.
The first reactions from players exceeded our expectations. They described the games as immersive, surprising, beautifully designed, and unlike anything they had experienced before. Many highlighted the cinematic atmosphere, original stories, special effects, and the feeling that they were not simply solving puzzles in a room, but truly stepping into another world.
The greatest compliment came from the teams themselves: most of them wanted to play the second game immediately after finishing the first one.
For us, there is no stronger proof that the adventures deliver on their promise. Instead of playing one game and leaving, teams wanted to stay longer — and continue their journey into the world of Nordic legends.
This is especially exciting because the two games offer very different experiences. Ludvig’s Kitchen is a playful, heart-warming adventure inspired by the Danish Nisse and the spirit of hygge, while The Wondrous Machine takes players on an epic mission beneath the Danish coast, where they must prevent the awakening of the legendary Midgard Serpent.
The opening weekend also attracted the attention of local media, tourism partners, and escape room enthusiasts, who travelled to Blåvand to be among the first to try the new adventures. Thank you all!
And this is only the beginning. Many teams have already asked the question every escape room creator loves to hear:
“When is the next room coming?”
For now, back in Ljubljana, we are focusing on completing our new, biggest, and most exciting adventure yet. Coming this autumn — fasten your seatbelts!
