October – the Month of TERPECA Nominations!

TERPECA (Top Escape Rooms Project Enthusiasts’ Choice Award) is an international project aimed at recognizing the best escape rooms in the world, based on the experiences of the most passionate and seasoned escape room players LINK >>

Thanks to its strict rules and thoughtful methodology, TERPECA has become the most prestigious global ranking in the industry. Within the escape room community, it holds a status similar to the Oscars in the film world.

✍️ Nominators

If you’ve played at least 200 escape rooms, you can apply to be a nominator and select up to 9 rooms that you believe deserve international recognition.

⚠️ Nominators may not nominate rooms they are connected to in any way (as owners, designers, staff, partners, etc.).
🗓️ The nomination phase takes place every October.

🗳️ Voters

If you’ve played more than 100 rooms, you’re eligible to vote. Voters help determine the final rankings from the nominated games.

Slovenia is a wonderful escape room destination – but as a small country, we have very few nominators. Currently, we only have two Slovenian nominators: Nataša Potočnik and Peter Arčon – and due to the rules, they cannot nominate their own games.

On top of that, fewer international nominators visit Slovenia compared to major global cities.

That means that Slovenian rooms must impress foreign nominators – often players who have experienced over 3,500 escape rooms – and earn a spot among their top 9 favorites. That is truly an exceptional achievement.

So we are especially proud of every single nomination that a Slovenian room receives. And once again this year, we are crossing our fingers that Slovenia secures a place among the world’s best escape room destinations.

Rooms recognized by TERPECA become global stars – visited by enthusiasts from around the world and often booked out months in advance (even if they’re located hours outside a major city).

The project encourages the development of cutting-edge, story-rich, technologically advanced, and emotionally immersive experiences – benefitting the entire industry.

So far, the following Slovenian escape rooms have been nominated:

• The Key – The Game

• Enigmarium Maribor – Redlight Casino

• Enigmarium Ljubljana – Cirkus, Operation Povodni Mož, The Return of the Werewolf

• Enigmarium’s Sensperience – which last year received more nominations than any game to date!

Each nomination is a testament to the passion, dedication, and quality that Slovenian creators invest into their experiences.
