When the championship moved online in 2020 due to the pandemic, it opened the door for teams from all over the world to participate. Now the competition takes place in two stages, with qualifications online and finals live.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, 532 teams from countries such as Japan, the UK, France, Italy, the United States, Poland, Singapore, Taiwan, Canada, Germany, Slovakia and Switzerland participated in the online qualifiers. They will have to play two 20-minute escape games created especially for this year&#8217;s competition. The fastest team will win the title of world champion.<\/p>\n<p>The event will be hosted by the Fun Arena, where it will be possible to follow the competition live in a special fan zone (live streaming will also be available). After the competition there will be a party with industry representatives and leading companies, as well as escape room enthusiasts from around the world.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"--fontsize: 18; line-height: 1.33; --minfontsize: 18;\" data-fontsize=\"18\" data-lineheight=\"23.9333px\"><strong>Story<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This year, the players chose the story themselves through a vote. The selected story is called <strong>&#8220;TV Obsession&#8221;<\/strong> and tells of two TV lovers who &#8220;fall into&#8221; watching TV so much that they can&#8217;t get back to reality. This year, the organizers invited the biggest escape room enthusiasts from the United States, Japan, France, Sweden, Italy and Slovenia to participate.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"--fontsize: 18; line-height: 1.33; --minfontsize: 18;\" data-fontsize=\"18\" data-lineheight=\"23.9333px\">Slovenian ambassador<\/h3>\n<p>The role of world championship ambassador for Slovenia was taken over by <strong>Nata\u0161a Poto\u010dnik, <\/strong>creator of gamified experiences from the popular <strong>Enigmarium<\/strong>. She is available to all the teams for any questions. She also visited the event last year in 2023.
